September 2020 Issue: Glamour’s Cover Features Six Black Women & Spotlights The Fight Against The Policing Of Black Hair

NEW YORK, UNITED STATES — The September 2020 issues are now arriving on the Internet and newsstands around the globe. Magazines are bringing their A-game with eye-catching covers and statement-making editorials. Some issues even weigh more than a pound and has over hundreds of pages.

The September issue is the most important and biggest issue of the year for fashion publications. Candy Pratts Prince once said, “September is the January in fashion.” September’s fall fashion issues hold a lot of weight and most luxury houses spend the most amount of advertising dollars in this particular issue.

Actress, producer and director Kerry Washington covers the September 2020 issue of Town & Country (See it here), Rihanna covers Harper’s Bazaar September 2020 issue (see it here), Marcus Rashford & Adwoa Aboah lead an inspiring army of activists on the cover of the September 2020 issue of British Vogue (see it here), Kendall Jenner covers the September 2020 issue of Architectural Digest (see it here),  Lala Anthony covers the September 2020 issue of Essence (see it here), Zendaya covers the September 2020 issue of InStyle (see it here), Cardi B covers the September 2020 issue of Elle magazine (see it here), actress Hunter Schafer covers the September 2020 issue of Allure magazine (see it here), Janelle Monáe covers the September 2020 issue of Shape magazine (see it here), Joey King covers the September 2020 issue of Cosmopolitan (see it here) and Vanity Fair‘s September 2020 issue features a painting of Breonna Taylor on the cover and an interview with her mother, Tamika Palmer, as the feature story, written by Ta Nehisi-Coates. The moving story seeks to paint a picture of  “a full, loving life taken too soon” (see it here).

Glamour‘s September 2020 cover story, titled Was It Our Hair? Or Was It You?, which is written by Ashley Alese Edwards, features six Black women from diverse job backgrounds who have all experienced unfair discrimination for the way they wore their hair to work. These women are advocating for the passage of the Crown Act in every state, an important piece of legislation that makes it illegal to discriminate against a person for the way they wear their hair to work.
