ITALY —  Italian apparel manufacturer and lifestyle brand Moncler just discontinued their ready-to-wear catwalk Gamme Bleu, Rouge Collections.

The last lineups were designed for the spring 2018 season as Moncler chairman and CEO Remo Ruffini plans a new strategy starting in February.

The group must vary and open up towards different horizons,” Ruffini said in the statement.

Designers Giambattista Valli and Thom Browne are also leaving to work on their namesake brands, Moncler said. The brand did not elaborate on its new strategy.

Moncler stores will become venues for more frequent launches of new designs, Ruffini told the Financial Times. He helped turn the group into a trendy fashion label after he took control in 2003 and floated it on the Milan stock market in December 2013.

Just last month, DM Fashion Book reported that Eurazeo sold another 3.34% stake in Moncler, for approximately €208 million (see it here).
