PARIS, FRANCE — After Louis Vuitton‘s creative director Virgil Abloh‘s announced nine region-exclusive Louis Vuitton LV 408 Trainer Hi colorways, we now have a look at the “New York” and “Chicago” version.

This shoe features the brand’s luxury materials with an urban street / basketball vibe.

According to Hypebeast, “Crafted in Italy by LV’s skilled cobblers, each shoe is made up of 106 components and was painstakingly put together over the course of six hours. A familiar grey, black and white palette that’s identical to the LV Trainer 408’s original launch colorway serves as the base, with embellishment provided by details like a 408 hit on the collar and a gold foil stamp on the midfoot“.

However, each shows regional ties by way of its special accents. These appear on both the laces and the harness that holds the monogrammed LV luggage tag in place on the collar’s strap. The New York pair opts for a Yankees-style dark navy blue, while the Chicago-themed pair seems to look to the Bears for its blaze orange embellishments“.

Virgil has announced special releases of the luxury sneaker across the world.

Seoul and New York will get a drop on November 25, while London, Paris, Milan, Chicago, Dubai, Shanghai and Tokyo will receive limited releases on December 4. Images teased by Abloh show that each shoe features a unique luggage tag; bright orange for Chicago, dark blue for New York, yellow for London, light blue for Paris, pink for Milan, dark green for Dubai, teal for Shanghai, red for Seoul and purple for Tokyo.
