Every season, New York – based VFiles invites creditable industry vets to guide designers, makeup artists and stylists in a group runway show at New York Fashion Week.
Naomi Campbell, Virgil Abloh, Pat McGrath and Mel Ottenberg have all served as mentors in the past.
Today Wednesday (July 26), VFiles announced that streetwear innovator Dapper Dan will serve as mentor in the upcoming edition of the runway show, now in its ninth season. The Harlem couturier, designer and tailor opened up a boutique on 125th street in the 1980s/1990s. He set a sartorial tone for a generation of entertainers and celebrities through his distinctive interpretation of luxury brands.
Dapper Dan will be joined as a VFiles mentor by Jimmy Moffat, founder and managing director of leading fashion talent agency Art + Commerce. The VFiles runway show will take place on September 6th at New York Fashion Week.
