American fashion designer Marc Jacobs presented his Fall 2017 Ready-To-Wear runway show at Park Avenue Armory during New York Fashion Week.

Brand: Marc Jacobs

Creative Director: Marc Jacobs

Season: Fall 2017 Ready-To-Wear

Inspiration: A documentary called Hip-Hop Evolution.

Trends: Wide pants, knitwear, fur-collared jacket, coats, miniskirts, exaggerated baseball caps, track pants, corduroy, platform shoes, and oversize key earrings and pendants.

Palette: Boxy furs, sequin, feathers, shiny Lurex and more.

Models: Slick Woods, Winnie Harlow, Natalie Westling, Kendall Jenner, Lineisy Montero, Jamie Bochert, Julia Nobis, trans model Casil McArthur, Adwoa Aboah, Binx Walton, Alek Wek and more.

Guests in attendance: Lil Kim, Katy Perry, Amandla Stenberg and more.

According to Vogue Runway, “There was no set, no music, no big hair and makeup statement, and no iPhone photography permitted.”

As a born and bred New Yorker, it was during my time at the High School of Art and Design when I began to see and feel the influence of hip-hop on other music as well as art and style. This collection is my representation of the well-studied dressing up of casual sportswear. It is an acknowledgement and gesture of my respect for the polish and consideration applied to fashion from a generation that will forever be the foundation of youth culture street style,” Jacob said.
