American Eagle is set to debut its first co-branded capsule collection with global ambassador Lamine Yamal on Sept. 3, just in time for the back-to-school shopping season.

The launch follows the company’s landmark five-year partnership with the Spanish soccer sensation, announced earlier this year. As part of the agreement, Yamal will appear in global marketing campaigns while collaborating on a series of exclusive limited-edition collections.

The capsule arrives after a historic summer for the 19-year-old star, who helped lead Spain to victory over Argentina in the FIFA World Cup final. With the championship win, Yamal became the youngest player ever to capture both a FIFA World Cup title and the UEFA European Championship.

American Eagle has fully embraced the momentum surrounding its newest ambassador. In celebration of Spain’s World Cup triumph, the retailer temporarily rebranded itself as “Lamine’s Eagles,” unveiling a special logo featuring Yamal’s initials alongside a soccer ball wrapped in signature denim patchwork. The company also renamed one of its denim styles “The 19 Jean,” honoring both Yamal’s age and jersey number, while taking over New York City’s Times Square with celebratory billboards.

We’re still riding the World Cup wave,” said Craig Brommers, American Eagle’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Back-to-school is our Super Bowl of denim, and now we’re saying it’s the World Cup of denim.”

Brommers, who first met Yamal in Barcelona in 2025, said the partnership was built around introducing one of soccer’s biggest young stars to a wider American audience while giving the brand a globally recognized face.

The debut collection will feature approximately 25 men’s and unisex pieces, including denim, woven pants, rugby shirts, knitwear and sweaters. Designed with Yamal’s personal style in mind, the assortment blends his modern streetwear aesthetic with American Eagle’s heritage-inspired DNA. The collection’s palette of greens, burgundy, tan and white draws inspiration from Yamal’s hometown and Spanish culture.

Although balancing training and sponsorship commitments, Yamal remained actively involved throughout the design process, helping shape a collection that reflects both his personal style and the brand’s identity.

The collection will launch globally, with Yamal front and center across American Eagle’s store windows, digital platforms and social media campaigns throughout the back-to-school season.

The Sept. 3 release marks the beginning of what American Eagle says will be a long-term creative partnership, with additional capsule collections expected throughout Yamal’s five-year ambassador deal.
