Grace Wales Bonner Continues Building Her Hermès Menswear Team Ahead of Debut Collection

Grace Wales Bonner is continuing to shape the future of Hermès menswear as anticipation builds around her debut collection for the French luxury house, set to be unveiled in January.
According to industry sources, Wales Bonner has recently added designer John-Gabriel Harrison to her growing team. While his exact role at Hermès has not been confirmed, Harrison arrives with an impressive menswear background that spans some of fashion’s most influential houses.
Most recently, Harrison served as head of design at A.P.C., a position he held since late last year, according to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade at Lanvin, working under several creative leaders including Peter Copping and Bruno Sialelli. He also worked alongside Lucas Ossendrijver during the designer’s transformative era at the house, helping reinterpret the menswear codes established by the late Alber Elbaz.
A graduate of London’s Central Saint Martins, Harrison began his career at Alexander McQueen before carving out a respected path in luxury menswear design.
Hermès has not publicly commented on the reported hire.
Wales Bonner’s arrival at Hermès marks a major new chapter for the house following the departure of Véronique Nichanian, who led the brand’s menswear division for 37 years — one of the longest tenures in fashion.
Since launching her namesake label after graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2014, Wales Bonner has become one of the most influential voices in modern fashion. She won the LVMH Young Designer Prize in 2016 and later expanded her acclaimed menswear vision into womenswear. Her collaborations with Adidas further elevated her global profile, blending luxury craftsmanship with sportswear culture.
Speaking previously about her appointment, Wales Bonner described Hermès as “such a magical house,” adding that she looks forward to exploring the brand’s heritage through her own creative lens.
