Nike has officially locked in the future of one of basketball’s brightest young stars. The sportswear giant has signed San Antonio Spurs franchise player Victor Wembanyama to a new multi-year endorsement extension that will include the launch of his first-ever signature basketball sneaker.

The news was first reported by ESPN insider Shams Charania before Nike confirmed the agreement with a cinematic Instagram video unveiling Wembanyama’s official signature logo. The newly revealed emblem incorporates his initials while featuring an alien-inspired design—a nod to the “Alien” nickname that has followed the French sensation throughout his basketball career.

The extension comes as Wembanyama’s previous Nike contract was set to expire in October, ensuring the two sides will continue their partnership for years to come. He originally joined Nike in 2022 while playing professionally for Metropolitans 92 in France and signed an extension before being selected first overall by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2023 NBA Draft.

While Nike has yet to reveal official details surrounding Wembanyama’s debut signature model, the announcement confirms that one of the NBA’s most anticipated signature sneaker launches is officially in the works. Additional information regarding the shoe’s design, technology, and release timeline is expected to be announced at a later date.
