New Balance 993 Returns In Striking “Black/Red” Colorway
The legendary 993 is back in rotation. This time, the Made in USA staple surfaces in a bold “Black/Red” execution that pushes the heritage runner into sharper territory.
Staying true to its performance roots, the sneaker features a breathable black mesh base layered with vivid red suede across the heel and midfoot. The contrast hits immediately. Black detailing on the tongue and midsole tempers the brightness, while the metallic silver “N” logo outlined in black keeps things classic and unmistakably New Balance.
The material story is where the pair really shines. Plush suede meets open mesh for that signature 990-series texture play—equal parts retro runner and everyday flex. As expected from the Made in USA line, craftsmanship and premium construction remain front and center.
Underfoot, the 993’s multi-layered foam setup delivers the comfort it’s known for, sitting atop a rugged black rubber outsole built for daily wear. It’s the same tried-and-true formula, just with louder energy.
