First Look: Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” Returns in 2026

The Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” is making its highly anticipated return in 2026, bringing back one of the most celebrated non-original colorways in Jordan Brand history. More than a decade after its last retro release in 2015, the fan-favorite silhouette is set to return on September 12, 2026.
New retailer images have surfaced, offering the clearest look yet at the upcoming release. The photos showcase the sneaker’s signature black nubuck upper, chrome-finished hardware, grey chenille tongue branding, and tonal crossover straps, all of which stay true to the design that helped make the “Chrome” a cult classic among sneaker enthusiasts.
Originally introduced in 2003, the Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” quickly earned a reputation for its sleek and versatile aesthetic. The understated black-and-grey color palette paired with metallic chrome accents gives the sneaker a timeless look that seamlessly transitions from the court to the streets.
The 2026 retro remains faithful to previous versions, featuring premium black nubuck construction, perforated overlays, and the iconic cross-strap system that defines the Air Jordan 8. Grey accents appear on the tongue logo and mudguard detailing, while chrome hardware on the straps and midsole adds a distinctive touch to the silhouette.
Although the “Chrome” was not part of the Air Jordan 8’s original 1993 lineup, it has become one of the model’s most sought-after colorways over the years. The upcoming release is expected to deliver an even more accurate shape and fit, appealing to both longtime collectors and a new generation of sneaker fans.
The Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” is scheduled to release on September 12, 2026, at select Jordan Brand retailers and Nike.com for $215 USD.
