Courrèges Names Drew Henry As Artistic Director

A new chapter begins at Courrèges. The Parisian label has officially named Drew Henry as its artistic director, ushering in a fresh creative direction following the recent departure of Nicolas di Felice. Henry, 38, steps into the role this May, joining from Burberry, where he served as senior design director under Daniel Lee since 2023.
The appointment comes from Artémis, the investment arm of the Pinault family, which has owned Courrèges outright since 2018. Chairman François-Henri Pinault praised Henry as “a strong creative talent with a clear point of view,” signaling confidence in his ability to guide the house through its next era.
A graduate of Central Saint Martins, Henry has built an influential, if largely behind-the-scenes, career. His résumé includes key roles at Céline during the transformative tenure of Phoebe Philo, as well as stints at JW Anderson and a return to Philo’s orbit in 2020, where he led design for the launch of her namesake brand.
At Courrèges, CEO Marie Leblanc sees Henry as a cultural match. “His creative talent and contemporary sensibility make him a natural fit for the house,” she noted, emphasizing ambitions to expand globally while preserving the label’s distinct French identity.
For Henry, the opportunity is both personal and philosophical. Drawing inspiration from founder André Courrèges, he emphasized a commitment to modern, purposeful design. “I’ve always been drawn to work that feels useful and direct,” he said, adding that he intends to balance heritage with a forward-thinking vision.
Henry’s arrival lands amid a broader industry reshuffle, with creative leadership shifts redefining the luxury landscape. His debut collection—already one of the most anticipated moments of the season—is set to hit the runway during Paris Fashion Week this September, where the industry will get its first look at his vision for the iconic house.
