Canali has officially appointed Alessio Lillocci as its new creative director, signaling a new chapter for the iconic Italian menswear house.

Born in Umbria, Italy in 1977, Lillocci’s passion for craftsmanship was shaped early on through his mother’s tailoring atelier. He began his journey in luxury retail before joining Brunello Cucinelli in 2002, where he worked closely with founder Brunello Cucinelli in the menswear division. By 2007, he had become head of the men’s style office, overseeing apparel, footwear, and accessories collections. In 2024, he joined Prada as director of men’s ready-to-wear collections.

We are delighted to welcome Alessio,” said Stefano Canali, president and CEO of the family-owned brand. “His experience, creative sensitivity, and deep understanding of menswear will be invaluable as we continue evolving the Canali identity while remaining true to our heritage.

Lillocci contributed to the design of Canali’s Fall 2026 collection, while his debut collection as creative director is expected to launch for Spring 2027.

Joining Canali is a tremendous honor,” Lillocci shared. “The brand represents the very best of Italian sartorial excellence, where craftsmanship, quality, and attention to detail remain at the center of everything. I look forward to building an authentic creative vision that respects the brand’s DNA while pushing it forward.”

The appointment marks a notable shift for Canali, which has largely relied on its in-house design team over the past decade. The move reflects the company’s broader evolution under Stefano Canali’s leadership, following a previous collaboration with creative consultant Andrea Pompilio from 2014 to 2016.
