Balenciaga Unveils Its Fall 2026 Campaign

Balenciaga is bringing the dramatic mood of its Fall 2026 collection to life with a new campaign inspired by the contrast between darkness and light.
Titled “Clair-obscur,” the campaign continues the visual language of Pierpaolo Piccioli’s latest collection, drawing inspiration from the French term used in art and photography to describe the striking interplay between light and shadow. For Piccioli, however, the concept goes beyond technique — it represents an emotion.
“I wanted to capture that exact moment where raw structure suddenly feels tender, and heavy shadows give way to a splash of unexpected light and colors,” Piccioli said. “It’s about taking Balenciaga’s intense, sculptural heritage and making it feel entirely lived-in, human, and free.”
Photographed by Robin Galiegue in a studio setting, the campaign stars models Anok Yai, Dara Gueye and Liu Wen. The trio showcases the collection’s dramatic silhouettes, including sculptural outerwear crafted in leather and designs featuring oversized, face-framing collars and hoods.
The campaign leans heavily into Balenciaga’s signature sense of drama, with deep shadows emphasizing exaggerated silhouettes, sculpted backs and moments of exposed skin. The contrast creates a sense of tension between the collection’s structured designs and softer, more intimate styling.
“With a focus on the architecture of outerwear and bags, images suggest a romantic tension between darkness and light, envelopment and unexpected ease,” Balenciaga said in a statement.
Accessories also take center stage as the house continues to expand its focus on handbags. The Hourglass Avenue and Le 7 Bowling bags receive dedicated close-ups, while Bloom pumps and Midnight City mules round out the footwear offering.
With its mix of sculptural tailoring, dramatic lighting and standout accessories, Balenciaga’s Fall 2026 campaign captures Piccioli’s vision of making the house’s bold architectural codes feel more human, effortless and lived-in.
