Alexander McQueen is set to return to London Fashion Week for the Spring 2027 season, marking a significant homecoming for the British luxury house after years of showing in Paris. The brand will present its latest collection on Sept. 20, with creative director Seán McGirr staging his first McQueen runway show in London since taking the helm.
The upcoming presentation will showcase womenswear and menswear, highlighting the house’s signature sharp tailoring and elevated occasion dressing while continuing McGirr’s evolving vision for the brand.
“London has always been at the heart of McQueen,” McGirr said in a statement. “There’s a uniquely visceral energy to the city that runs throughout the house’s history and continues to inspire everything we do today. Returning to London Fashion Week allows us to deeply engage with that spirit and the creative community that defines both London and this house.”
The move also reflects a broader commitment to the brand’s British roots. Newly appointed CEO Gianfranco D’Attis described the return as a meaningful milestone, emphasizing London’s importance to McQueen’s identity and heritage while reaffirming support for the city’s creative community and the British Fashion Council.
British Fashion Council CEO Laura Weir welcomed the announcement, calling it a major moment for London Fashion Week. She noted that bringing Alexander McQueen back to the city had been one of her earliest ambitions, praising the house’s lasting influence on the global fashion industry and its role in shaping British creativity.
Founded by Lee Alexander McQueen in 1992, the label built its reputation through groundbreaking, theatrical runway presentations in London before eventually relocating its shows to Paris. In recent years, former creative director Sarah Burton occasionally returned to the British capital for off-calendar presentations staged at iconic locations including the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich and a dramatic rooftop venue in East London.
Beyond the runway, Alexander McQueen is further strengthening its presence in London. The house is preparing to relocate from its longtime flagship at 27 Old Bond Street to a smaller space on the same prestigious street as part of an ongoing business restructuring. Expected to open this fall, the redesigned boutique will feature a refreshed interior concept while continuing to offer the full Alexander McQueen collection.
The brand’s return to London Fashion Week signals a renewed connection to the city where its story began, bringing one of Britain’s most influential fashion houses back to its roots as a new chapter unfolds under McGirr’s creative direction.
