A.P.C. Names Ludivine Poiblanc as Its New Artistic Director

French fashion label A.P.C. has officially named Ludivine Poiblanc as its new artistic director, marking a major creative shift for the Paris-based house. Poiblanc’s debut collection for the brand will be unveiled in the coming weeks, first at A.P.C.’s Milan showroom on May 20, followed by a Paris presentation at Rue Madame on June 15.
Known for her refined eye and effortless French aesthetic, Poiblanc has built an impressive career working between Paris and New York as both a stylist and creative director. Throughout the years, she has collaborated with leading fashion houses on projects spanning product development, creative strategy, and visual identity. Her editorial work has also appeared in major publications including WSJ Magazine, Vanity Fair, and Harper’s Bazaar.
Her appointment is particularly significant for A.P.C., as she becomes the first artistic director hired from outside the company since the label was founded in 1987 by Jean Touitou. Over the decades, A.P.C. has become synonymous with minimalist French style, earning a loyal following through its signature raw denim, understated tailoring, and elevated everyday essentials.
The brand has also strengthened its cultural relevance through high-profile collaborations with labels such as Lacoste, Carhartt, A Bathing Ape, and Sacai.
Stephanie Phair, president of A.P.C., described Poiblanc’s arrival as the beginning of an important new era for the company. Phair noted that the brand remains focused on strategic growth while continuing to emphasize the elements that define A.P.C.’s identity — particularly its heritage in denim, accessories, and ready-to-wear with a distinct point of view.
Jean Touitou also praised Poiblanc’s creative sensibility, highlighting not only her experience as a stylist, but also her personality and modern approach to fashion. He expressed confidence that she will help guide the brand into its next chapter while honoring the legacy and DNA that have defined A.P.C. for nearly four decades.
Poiblanc called the role a “unique opportunity,” adding that she has long admired the label’s “radical simplicity” and its distinctly French attitude. She also acknowledged the creative foundation built by Jean and Judith Touitou, who previously designed the collections alongside the in-house team.
Today, A.P.C. maintains a global retail presence with stores in fashion capitals including New York City, Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Sydney, and Berlin.
The brand has been majority-owned by L Catterton since 2023, while Jean and Judith Touitou continue to hold a significant minority stake. Following the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, A.P.C. has been focused on strengthening its global positioning and deepening its ties to the worlds of fashion, art, and music.
At the time of L Catterton’s acquisition, A.P.C. was generating just over 100 million euros in annual revenue — a figure the investment firm believes has substantial room for future growth.
