Oregon State Beavers freshman wide receiver Jesse Legree is making major moves off the field following his breakout start to the college football season. Legree, alongside his brother Josiah Legree, has officially signed with Klutch Sports Group for Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) representation, adding one of the sports industry’s most prominent agencies to his growing team.

The signing comes after an impressive freshman campaign that has quickly turned Legree into one of college football’s biggest surprises. Once an overlooked three-star high school recruit, the Baltimore native has emerged as a dominant force at Oregon State, becoming the first receiver in program history to record six consecutive 100-yard receiving games.

His success has also earned him a place in Nike’s Blue Ribbon Elite NIL program, joining teammate and quarterback Braden Atkinson as part of the initiative.

Legree’s rise is particularly remarkable considering how difficult his recruitment journey was. Despite his athleticism and speed, he entered his senior year at Baltimore’s Saint Frances Academy without an official scholarship offer. While 26 of his teammates celebrated their college football scholarships on signing day, Legree was left without a school to call home. Rather than allowing the disappointment to define him, he remained supportive of his teammates and continued believing in his abilities.

“I knew if the roles were reversed, they’d be cheering me on, too,” Legree recalled.

Fast-forward to his freshman season, and Legree has become one of the most productive receivers in Division I football. At the time of the reported statistics, he led the nation in both receiving yards with 1,040 and touchdowns with 14. He also opened his collegiate career with seven consecutive games recording at least 100 receiving yards and a touchdown, helping power an Oregon State offense that had put together five straight victories.

His accomplishments have made his recruitment story even more difficult to understand, considering how many programs overlooked his potential.

Last month, Legree returned to Saint Frances Academy to share another major announcement: he plans to return to Oregon State for the 2027 season. His journey from an overlooked high school prospect to a nationally recognized freshman standout is a testament to his determination, athletic ability and belief in himself.

Throughout the process, one person who never questioned his potential was his father, Jeffery Legree. Reflecting on the college programs that passed on his son, Jeffery offered a blunt message to those recruiting departments: “Fire the recruiting staffs.”

With Klutch Sports Group now representing him and Nike recognizing his growing influence, Jesse Legree’s story is quickly becoming one of college football’s most compelling breakout success stories.
