Popular streamer Tylil James is stepping into the world of film, making his official acting debut in Get Lite, an upcoming dance drama directed by Teyana Taylor.

Backed by Paramount Pictures and produced by Kenya Barris, the film marks Taylor’s feature directorial debut. James joins a cast that includes Storm Reid, Leslie Odom Jr. and Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor.

Set in New York City, Get Lite explores the city’s underground Litefeet dance movement and the subway culture that helped shape it. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on August 20, 2027.

Cardi B is also set to make a cameo appearance. The Bronx-born rapper was spotted filming scenes at Rucker Park and the Dyckman basketball courts in New York City, bringing another familiar name to the highly anticipated project.

Outside of his move into acting, James also delivered a standout fashion moment on set. He wore a leather and suede jacket by Ernest W. Baker, paired with the Rick Owens DRKSHDW Double Cargo Jumbo pants, bringing a contemporary luxury edge to his look.

With a cast spanning entertainment, music and digital culture, Get Lite is shaping up to be a notable addition to New York’s dance-film legacy.
