Off-White and creative director Ib Kamara have mutually agreed to part ways, bringing an end to Kamara’s four-year tenure at the helm of the Milan-based fashion house.

Kamara was appointed creative director in spring 2022, following years of collaboration with Off-White and its late founder, Virgil Abloh. His appointment marked a continuation of the close creative relationship the two had developed, with Kamara previously contributing to Off-White through styling and other creative projects.

We are deeply grateful for Ib’s vision, creativity, and the remarkable energy he brought to Off-White throughout his tenure,” said Joey Gabbay, chief executive officer of Bluestar Alliance, which acquired the brand in September 2024. “Ib’s contributions have been instrumental in shaping and evolving the brand, and we sincerely thank him for his dedication and lasting impact.”

During his time as creative director, Kamara helped push Off-White’s vision forward through a series of runway presentations in New York and Paris. He staged the brand’s first New York fashion show in September 2024, taking the collection to the waterfront basketball courts at Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Kamara’s work has consistently explored themes of identity, gender and culture, while maintaining the sense of community and cross-disciplinary creativity that defined Abloh’s approach to Off-White.

In a statement, Kamara reflected on his time at the house, describing the experience as both an honor and a profound creative education.

Off-White is bigger than any one idea, exactly as Virgil intended — a house with genuine values, rooted in culture, community, and the belief that fashion can speak to everyone,” Kamara said. “I leave with enormous pride in all we have made, and with nothing but excitement for what this house will continue to become.”

Bluestar Alliance, which acquired Off-White LLC from LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton in 2024, said it remains open to working with Kamara on future projects, praising his “extraordinary talent.”

The leadership change comes as Off-White continues to develop its next chapter under Bluestar Alliance. The company recently introduced L/AB c/o Off-White, a younger, more accessible line that builds on the Off-White For All concept originally introduced under Abloh. The brand has also launched 10 x 10: Off-White Icons Reimagined, bringing together a group of creatives to reinterpret some of its most recognizable pieces.

Beyond Off-White, Kamara has continued expanding his creative portfolio. In June 2025, he launched Raw Materials by Ib Kamara, a 360-degree creative agency, further establishing his presence across fashion, culture and visual storytelling.

Born in Sierra Leone, Kamara spent part of his childhood in The Gambia before moving to London at 16. He went on to become one of fashion’s most recognizable stylists and creative voices, contributing to publications including Vogue Italia, i-D, System and Another, while working with designers and houses across the industry.

For Off-White, the departure marks another significant transition for a brand still navigating the legacy of its founder while defining its future under new ownership. A successor to Kamara has yet to be announced.
