Italian luxury fashion group OTB has officially taken full control of Viktor & Rolf, further strengthening its long-standing partnership with the acclaimed Dutch fashion house.

Founded by Renzo Rosso, OTB initially acquired a 51 percent stake in Viktor & Rolf in 2008 before increasing its ownership to 70 percent in 2019. With this latest move, the group now holds complete ownership of the brand, although financial details surrounding the transaction have not been disclosed.

Despite the ownership change, founders Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren will remain at the creative helm of the house, continuing their roles as creative directors for the next five years.

Viktor and Rolf are two of the most visionary and influential designers in contemporary fashion,” Rosso said in a statement. He praised the duo’s commitment to innovation, artistic expression, and couture craftsmanship, noting that the acquisition further solidifies OTB’s relationship with one of fashion’s most distinctive maisons.

Horsting and Snoeren also expressed enthusiasm about the future, stating that they look forward to continuing their creative journey and using fashion as a platform for experimentation and new ideas.

Since launching the label in 1993, Viktor & Rolf have built a reputation for pushing creative boundaries through couture while successfully expanding into ready-to-wear, bridalwear, and eyewear. The brand is also widely recognized for its fragrance portfolio developed in partnership with L’Oréal Luxe, including global bestsellers such as Flowerbomb, Spicebomb, and Bonbon.

Beyond the runway, Viktor & Rolf’s work has been showcased at some of the world’s most prestigious cultural institutions, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, MAXXI in Rome, Kunsthalle Munich, the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, and the Sea World Culture and Arts Center in Shenzhen.

The acquisition further strengthens OTB’s luxury portfolio, which includes Diesel, Jil Sander, Maison Margiela, Marni, as well as production divisions Staff International and Brave Kid. The group also holds a stake in Amiri.
