Marcus Jordan, the son of basketball icon Michael Jordan, has announced the closure of his Orlando-based sneaker boutique, Trophy Room.

Jordan shared the news in a statement posted to Instagram on Monday, revealing that while the physical retail operation is coming to an end, the business will continue online under a new brand identity. He also confirmed that he will retain ownership of the Trophy Room trademark and intellectual property, leaving the door open for a potential return in the future.

Trophy Room first opened its doors in 2016 at Disney Springs in Orlando, quickly becoming a destination for sneaker enthusiasts. The store operated there until 2019 before transitioning to an online-only model. In 2022, the brand returned to brick-and-mortar retail with a new downtown Orlando location.

Over the years, Trophy Room built a close relationship with Jordan Brand, releasing several highly sought-after collaborations. The partnership began with a special Air Jordan 23 created to commemorate the store’s grand opening and continued through multiple limited-edition releases. Their most recent collaboration arrived in 2024 with an Air Jordan 1 Low inspired by Michael Jordan’s iconic rookie card. A rumored Air Jordan 6 collaboration expected to launch last year never materialized.

Trophy Room’s journey was not without controversy. In 2021, the boutique faced scrutiny from the sneaker community following allegations of “backdooring” during the release of its coveted Air Jordan 1 collaboration. Reports surfaced that a significant number of pairs had entered the resale market before the official launch date, leading many consumers to question the fairness of the release process.

As he closes this chapter, Marcus Jordan says he plans to focus on new ventures that better align with both his professional ambitions and personal goals. While Trophy Room’s physical presence may be ending for now, the brand’s influence on sneaker culture and its legacy of exclusive Jordan collaborations remain firmly intact.
